ATV Hunting Accessories
Your ATV is an incredibly versatile machine and can help you with a multitude of activities. But even it has limitations. That’s why many ATV riders bring along additional supplies and accessories to make things easier. If you’re a hunter, then you’ll want to outfit your four-wheeler with the right accessories to make your next trip easier and more efficient. Read through some of our suggestions to find out which ones are going to help you best. If you still can’t find the right feature to solve a problem you’re running into, then come chat with one of our staff at Polaris® of Gainesville, or ask to view some of the Polaris® ATVs we have for sale right now. We proudly serve Gainesville, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Ocala, and Lake City, Florida.
Gun Scabbard or Front Gun Rack
The weapons you use are of course essential, but they’re also probably some of the bulkiest items to store. They’re oddly shaped, not particularly flexible, and if you want to avoid having to stop and assemble them when you spot a target, then you’ll need a special place to store them. To get them out of your way, consider a gun scabbard or front gun rack for your ATV. This will help keep your weapons out of the way and protected from rattling supplies. Plus they’ll be more accessible.
Lights
Even when you’re trying to be careful, you might find yourself caught out after dark or simply in a more dimly lit area. Having something to light your way can be a huge improvement for your safety. Even if you never use them, better safe than sorry. You can find a model that comes with lights or have them installed after the fact.
Winch and Tow Straps
This is another one of those “just in case” features, but for a number of different circumstances. Depending on what you’re hunting, you might bag something that’s a little harder to lug on the back of your ATV. You might need a little help loading it on, so you might as well use the machine that it’s going on. You also never know when an accident leads to you getting stuck in the mud or in a ditch. ATVs are heavy, often weighing in at 500 pounds or more. And if you’re simultaneously trying to fight Mother Nature, you and even your friends might not be able to pull it out. But again, if you attach a winch or tow straps to a nearby tree and use the ATV’s own power to pull it out of a sticky situation, it can turn a big headache into a minor hiccup.
Camouflage Cover
The noise an ATV makes while it’s on the move can actually help you in some ways. If there are other hunters in the area, then they’ll know that you’re a person and not a potential target. However, the machine can also scare off game, even if you have it turned off. Trying to get it to blend into the surroundings as much as possible is going to be a big help. You can start by investing in a quad that already comes with a camouflage paint finish, but you can also get a camouflage cover to throw over it when it’s not in use. Not only will this help hide it, but it can also protect it from the elements. Just make sure you don’t lose track of it!
